Longwood, MO (July 1, 2026) – Two people were injured as a result of a Longwood car accident along US 65. The collision occurred on June 30, 2026, at approximately 1:40 p.m. near the intersection of northbound US 65 and Route BB.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2020 GMC Sierra driven by a 66-year-old man from Nelson, Missouri, and a 2018 Ford Escape operated by 84-year-old Eileen Southwick of Marshall, Missouri. Authorities reported that the GMC Sierra was crossing US 65 when it struck the Ford Escape, which was traveling northbound at the time.
The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles, and each required removal from the scene by Don’s Towing. Emergency crews arrived to assist those involved and assess injuries. An adult passenger in the Ford Escape, identified as a 52-year-old woman from Marshall, sustained injuries and was transported by Pettis County EMS to the University of Missouri Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford Escape, Eileen Southwick, also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bothwell Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the GMC Sierra was reported to be wearing a seatbelt and did not have injuries listed in the report. All individuals involved were adults, and both vehicles were insured at the time of the crash.
Traffic delays were reported along US 65 as crews worked to clear the damaged vehicles and assist those involved. The crash remains under investigation by authorities.
