Kansas City, MO (February 10, 2026) – Two people suffered injuries on Monday, February 9, after a house fire broke out in a Kansas City neighborhood. The accident happened at a two-story home on Wabash Avenue just after 8:45 p.m.
The Kansas City Fire Department and emergency units arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the residence. Crews worked quickly to control the fire and assist those inside the home. Responders focused on safety and medical needs as smoke filled the structure.
One person inside the house suffered smoke inhalation and required medical attention. Emergency responders treated the person before taking them to a local hospital for further care. Officials did not release details about the person’s condition.
A second person later approached responders at the scene and asked for medical help. That person was also taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. Authorities have not shared information about the extent of their injuries.
