Franklin County, KS (June 22, 2026) – A Wellsville truck accident involving a sport utility vehicle and a semi-truck left one person injured Sunday afternoon in Franklin County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on June 21 at approximately 2:21 p.m. along Interstate 35 northbound just south of Tennessee Road near mile marker 191.2. Authorities reported that a 2025 Volvo semi-truck struck a 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara from the rear while both vehicles were traveling northbound on the interstate.

Investigators indicated that the Suzuki was moving at a slow pace when the collision occurred. The impact caused damage to the vehicles and prompted an emergency response to the scene.

The Suzuki was driven by 41-year-old Paul Anglade of Olathe, Kansas. Anglade was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

The Volvo semi-truck was operated by 64-year-old Melido E. Diaz Sanchez of Summerfield, Florida. Authorities reported that Diaz Sanchez was not injured in the collision. The truck was towing a 2023 Hyundai trailer at the time of the crash.

The Suzuki was removed from the scene by Andy’s Wrecker and taken to a tow lot. Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
