Webster Co., MO – Two Seriously Hurt in SUV vs Semi Crash on I-44

Webster Co., MO (January 14, 2025) – A collision involving an SUV and a semi-truck on Interstate 44 left two women seriously injured Sunday afternoon, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at approximately 4:31 p.m. on January 12 on Interstate 44, about three miles west of Conway. Preliminary reports indicate that a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by a 52-year-old woman from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was overtaking another vehicle when that vehicle changed lanes. The SUV was forced off the left side of the roadway.

The driver of the Suburban attempted to return to the road but collided with a 2022 Peterbilt semi-truck, operated by a 55-year-old man from Battlefield, MO. The impact caused the Suburban to veer off the left side of the road once more, where it overturned.

The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban and her 76-year-old passenger, also from Oklahoma City, were both seriously injured in the crash. They were transported by EMS to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for medical treatment. The driver of the semi-truck sustained no reported injuries.

The Chevrolet Suburban was totaled and towed from the scene by Marshfield Towing, while the Peterbilt sustained moderate damage and was removed by McDowell’s Wrecker Service. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Our thoughts are with the injured women, and we hope for their full recovery.
