Sedalia, MO (September 30, 2026) – A fatal Sedalia motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 40-year-old Sweet Springs man and left a 60-year-old Sedalia woman injured Tuesday afternoon after a motorcycle and SUV collided on US 50.

The crash occurred on September 29 at approximately 3:30 p.m. on eastbound US 50 at Sadie Ln in Pettis County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide and a 2017 Nissan Rogue were involved in the collision.

Authorities reported that the front of the Harley-Davidson struck the passenger side of the Nissan Rogue. The motorcycle driver, a 40-year-old man from Sweet Springs, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:30 p.m. by Pettis County Deputy Coroner Mike Hawkins.

The motorcyclist was transported from the scene by Rea Funeral Chapel. His name was not released in the crash information.

The 60-year-old Sedalia woman driving the Nissan Rogue suffered moderate injuries. Pettis County EMS transported her to Bothwell Regional Health Center for additional medical care. The report indicates that she was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
