Jackson, MO – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-470 Leaves Three Injured

Jackson, MO (December 28, 2024) – A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 470 east of View High Drive left three people injured on Thursday evening, December 26, according to reports from law enforcement. The collision occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. and involved a 2003 Acura and a 2020 Chevrolet.

Authorities reported that the driver of the Acura, a 33-year-old woman from Overland Park, Kansas, lost control of her vehicle. The car veered off the roadway, crossed an exit ramp, and struck the Chevrolet, which was also traveling eastbound. The Chevrolet sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

The crash resulted in minor injuries for all involved. The 28-year-old driver of the Chevrolet and her 3-year-old passenger, both from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, were transported to area hospitals for treatment. The juvenile passenger was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital by private vehicle, while the driver was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by the Lee’s Summit Fire Department. The driver of the Acura refused treatment at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
