Kansas City, MO (May 26, 2026) – A Kansas City car accident involving an ambulance and an SUV left two people injured Sunday afternoon on Interstate 435 in Clay County.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:19 p.m. on May 24 along northbound I-435 just south of NE Parvin Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision involved a 2024 Ford F-550 ambulance and a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, both traveling northbound.

A 49-year-old female occupant in the ambulance, also from Kansas City, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the same hospital. The 38-year-old male driver of the Jeep, also from Kansas City, Missouri, was not listed as injured.

Traffic along northbound I-435 was impacted as crews worked to assist the injured and clear the roadway. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.

We hope those injured in this collision recover quickly.

Yes. Missouri follows a pure comparative fault system, which means you may still recover compensation even if you were partially responsible for a Kansas City car accident. Should I speak to the other driver’s insurance company after a Kansas City car accident?

You are not required to provide a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurer immediately after a Kansas City car accident. Insurance adjusters may attempt to gather statements that can later be used to reduce or deny your claim.
