Kansas City, MO (May 26, 2026) – A Kansas City car accident involving an ambulance and an SUV left two people injured Sunday afternoon on Interstate 435 in Clay County.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:19 p.m. on May 24 along northbound I-435 just south of NE Parvin Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision involved a 2024 Ford F-550 ambulance and a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, both traveling northbound.
Investigators determined that the front of the Jeep struck the passenger side of the ambulance. The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles, and each was towed from the scene. Jackson County Tow removed the ambulance, while Lucky’s Tow handled the Jeep.
The ambulance was driven by a 35-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri. He sustained minor injuries and was transported by the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department to Saint Luke’s on the Plaza for treatment. A 49-year-old female occupant in the ambulance, also from Kansas City, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the same hospital. The 38-year-old male driver of the Jeep, also from Kansas City, Missouri, was not listed as injured.
Traffic along northbound I-435 was impacted as crews worked to assist the injured and clear the roadway. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
