Adrian, MO – SUV and Semi-Truck Crash on I-49, Leaving One Seriously Hurt

Adrian, MO (March 14, 2025) – A crash involving a semi-truck and an SUV on northbound Interstate 49 resulted in one person being seriously injured. The collision happened at approximately 8:48 p.m. at the 145.6-mile marker in Bates County.

According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2005 Kenworth T6001 semi-truck was traveling northbound when it struck the rear of a 2021 Cadillac XT4. The impact of the crash caused the Cadillac to sustain total damage, while the semi-truck had only minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.

The driver of the Cadillac, a 45-year-old man from Greenwood, Missouri, suffered serious injuries. Emergency medical personnel with Central Cass Fire transported him to Cass Regional Medical Center for further treatment. The semi-truck driver, identified as a 54-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, was not reported to be injured. Authorities with the Bates County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
