Kansas City, KS (June 19, 2026) – A Kansas City car accident on Interstate 635 left one woman injured Thursday morning in Wyandotte County.

According to crash reports, the collision occurred on June 18 at approximately 11:35 a.m. along southbound I-635 near Orville Rd.

Reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol show that a 2008 Mazda 3 and a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee were both traveling southbound when the driver of the Mazda lost control on the wet roadway. Authorities said the vehicle spun out, leaving the driver of the Jeep unable to avoid a collision.

The Jeep was driven by 43-year-old Johnny A. Hodge of Kansas City, Kansas. Reports indicate that Hodge left the scene following the crash, and his condition remains unknown.

A passenger in the Jeep, 47-year-old Lakisha L. Gilliam of Kansas City, Kansas, suffered injuries in the collision. She was transported to KU Medical Center for treatment. Gilliam was reportedly wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Mazda was driven by 50-year-old Carrie D. Vochatzer of Kansas City, Missouri. Authorities reported that she was wearing a seatbelt and did not appear to suffer injuries.
