Warsaw, MO (August 5, 2026) – A Warsaw car accident involving three vehicles left multiple people injured, including several children, Monday afternoon at the intersection of US-65 and Route BB in Benton County.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:13 p.m. on August 3 after reports of a serious collision at the intersection. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2017 Dodge Journey, a 2017 Ford Explorer, and a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500.
Investigators reported that the Dodge Ram, driven by a 66-year-old man from Warsaw, was stopped facing westbound on Route BB. At the same time, a 37-year-old woman from Warsaw driving the Dodge Journey was traveling southbound on US-65 and attempted to turn east onto Route BB. During the turn, her vehicle entered the path of a northbound Ford Explorer driven by a 44-year-old man from Kansas City.
The Ford Explorer struck the Dodge Journey on the passenger side. Following the initial impact, the Dodge Journey continued across US-65 and collided with the stationary Dodge Ram.
The crash resulted in serious injuries to multiple occupants of the Dodge Journey. The 37-year-old female driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by air to Research Hospital of Kansas City. Three juvenile passengers, ages 6, 8, and 16, also suffered injuries, including two reported as serious. All three children were transported by air to Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment.
The 44-year-old male driver of the Ford Explorer sustained minor injuries but was not transported. All drivers and occupants were reported to be wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
All three vehicles sustained significant damage and were removed from the scene by towing services. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
