Kaw Township, KS (August 15, 2026) – Two people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a Kaw Township car accident involving a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of K-4 and 39th Street.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:06 p.m. on August 13 at K-4 near 39th Street, mile marker 337.5, in Kaw Township. Investigators reported that a 2008 Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on 39th Street while a 2023 Ford F-150 was traveling south on K-4.

Authorities stated that the Chevrolet entered the intersection after failing to stop at a posted stop sign. The Ford struck the driver’s side B-pillar of the Impala despite the pickup driver attempting an evasive maneuver. Following the impact, both vehicles left the roadway on the east side of K-4. The Ford came to rest approximately 20 feet from the roadway, while the Chevrolet traveled about 115 feet before stopping.

The Chevrolet was driven by Eric W. Molinar, 18, of Meriden. He sustained injuries and was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment. The Ford was driven by Jennifer L. Rohr, 44, of Meriden, was not reported injured. Passenger Marcella D. Vasquez, 44, of Meriden, was wearing a seat belt and sustained injuries. She was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital for additional medical care.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene, and the crash remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
