Tecumseh, KS (August 11, 2026) – A Tecumseh car accident left two drivers injured Monday morning after a westbound vehicle crossed the center line on U.S. Highway 40 in Shawnee County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 7:24 a.m. on August 10 near U.S. 40 milepost 366.8 (7245 U.S. 40).
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash report, a 2009 Mercury Milan was traveling westbound along U.S. 40 while a 2010 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound. Investigators reported that the Mercury crossed the center line and sideswiped the Toyota. The collision resulted in injuries, and both vehicles sustained damage before being removed from the scene by Heartland Recovery.
The Mercury was driven by Rayvon Jerome Bell, 49, of Topeka. Bell complained of pain after the crash and was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital for evaluation. The Toyota was driven by Jacinto E. Andres Pedro, 24, of Topeka. He likewise suffered injuries described as complaints of pain and was transported by private vehicle to a hospital for additional medical care.
The Kansas Highway Patrol investigated the crash. Authorities stated the incident was not connected to a hit-and-run or police pursuit. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
