Overland Park, KS (September 22, 2026) – An Overland Park car accident involving four vehicles sent Jenny Foy, 40, and Alexis Barnard, 32, to the hospital after a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 435 on Monday afternoon.
Reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol show that the accident occurred on September 21 at approximately 4:33 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-435, about six-tenths of a mile west of Quivira Rd. According to the crash report, three vehicles had slowed for traffic when a fourth vehicle failed to slow.
Authorities reported that a 2008 Ford Focus driven by Foy, of Blue Springs, Missouri, struck the rear of a 2023 Kia Sportage driven by Tammy Lawrence, 62, of Shawnee. The impact pushed Lawrence’s Kia into a 2020 Ford Fusion driven by Matthew Ridgway, 32, of Topeka.
The Ford Fusion was then pushed into a 2011 Kia Sorento driven by Robert Kidd, 41, of Gardner. Cameron Kidd, 18, of Gardner, was riding in the Sorento.
Foy and her passenger, Barnard, of Russell, were injured. Both women were transported to Overland Park Regional for medical care. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
