Lafayette County, MO (June 2, 2026) – An Oak Grove car accident involving three vehicles left two drivers injured Monday morning along Interstate 70. The crash occurred on June 1 at approximately 10:35 a.m. on I-70 westbound near the 29.6 mile marker in Lafayette County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision began when the front of a 2023 Volvo struck the rear of a 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor. The impact forced the passenger side of the Mitsubishi into the rear of a 2024 Freightliner. After the initial crash sequence, the Volvo traveled off the right side of the roadway. Trooper J. M. Haines and Trooper J. D. Conrad led the investigation, with assistance from multiple patrol units and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.

The 28-year-old male driver of the Volvo, from Hazlehurst, Mississippi, sustained moderate injuries. He was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash and was transported by Sni Valley EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center. The Volvo sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Caster’s Tow.

The 56-year-old female driver of the Mitsubishi Endeavor, from Mayview, Missouri, suffered serious injuries. She was transported by Sni Valley EMS to Research Medical Center. The Mitsubishi was totaled in the crash and also removed by Caster’s Tow.

The 48-year-old male driver of the 2024 Freightliner, from Hannibal, Missouri, reported minor damage to his vehicle and was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. His vehicle was towed from the scene. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
