Merriam, KS (August 25, 2026) – A Merriam car accident along West 74th Street resulted in two people being transported to AdventHealth Shawnee Mission on Friday afternoon.
According to emergency dispatch communications, paramedics notified AdventHealth Shawnee Mission at approximately 1:17 p.m. on August 21 that they were transporting two patients from the scene of a crash on West 74th Street. The first patient was identified as a 20-year-old woman who was driving one of the vehicles. She was alert and oriented following the collision and complained of pain and swelling to her right hand, primarily around her thumb and finger. He sustained burns to his right arm and left knee that were reportedly caused by airbag deployment. Both patients were transported to AdventHealth Shawnee Mission for additional medical evaluation and treatment.
