Grain Valley, MO (August 2, 2026) – A Grain Valley car accident left two people injured Thursday afternoon along MO-BB south of MO-FF in Jackson County.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m. on July 30 after receiving reports of a collision involving two vehicles. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by a 19-year-old man from Independence, was traveling northbound when the crash occurred.
Investigators report that the Chevrolet attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway, crossing into the path of a 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan traveling southbound. The Tiguan was driven by a 77-year-old man from Buckner, who was unable to avoid the collision. The vehicles collided, resulting in extensive damage to both.
Emergency crews responded to assist those involved. A 76-year-old female passenger in the Volkswagen sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Fort Osage EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center. The 77-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries and was transported by Sni Valley EMS to the same hospital for treatment.
The 19-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was reported to be wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by tow services due to the severity of the damage. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
