Spring Hill, KS (June 18, 2026) – Three people were transported to an area hospital with injuries following a Spring Hill truck accident that occurred on Tuesday evening near the intersection of US Highway 169 and 199th Street.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. on June 16. Investigators reported that a 15-year-old driver from Spring Hill was operating a 2025 Ford F-250 southbound on US-169 and was attempting to turn east onto 199th St.
Troopers say the teen was struck by a northbound 2025 Freightliner semi-truck driven by a 63-year-old man from Reeds. The impact forced the pickup into a ditch and caused the semi-truck to overturn onto its driver’s side.
The 15-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger from Olathe both suffered serious injuries. Authorities reported that neither teenager was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The semi-truck driver also sustained serious injuries and was transported for medical treatment. Officials noted that he was wearing his seatbelt when the collision occurred.
The Kansas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
