Shelbina, MO (August 17, 2026) – A Kansas woman was injured in a Shelbina truck accident that occurred on Thursday morning, August 13, along Highway 36 in Shelby County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 7:25 a.m. on Highway 36 near Shelbina. Investigators reported that a 2026 Buick and a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer were both traveling west when the Buick stopped at a stop sign. The Volvo truck then struck the rear of the Buick. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the injured driver as a 28-year-old woman from Overland Park, Kansas. The truck was driven by a 32-year-old man from Shelby Township, Michigan.

Emergency medical personnel transported the injured woman to Samaritan Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Authorities reported that both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. The Buick sustained extensive damage, while the Volvo tractor-trailer sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Shelbyville Auto.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and the Shelbina Police and Fire Departments assisted at the scene. Lieutenant Behrens of the Missouri State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash.
