Two-Vehicle Injury Crash at Ford and Rouse in Pittsburg

Pittsburg, KS (March 15, 2026) – A two-vehicle injury crash occurred Saturday, March 14, 2026. The Pittsburg car accident took place at approximately 10:55 a.m. at the intersection of Ford Avenue and Rouse Avenue.

According to the crash report, a 2023 Cadillac Escalade operated by Ashley Dawn Rook, 35, of Noel, Missouri, was traveling northbound on Rouse Street when she failed to yield and turned in front of a southbound 2026 Kia Carnival. The Escalade spun counterclockwise, coming to rest facing east on Ford Street. The Carnival spun clockwise, coming to rest facing west on Rouse Street.

Rook and her 4-year-old passenger were reported with no apparent injuries.

The Carnival was occupied by five members of the Conyers family, all of Pittsburg. Driver Tyler Dee Conyers, 37, along with passengers Christina Louise Conyers, 35, and children ages 11, 10, and 8, were all transported to Pittsburg Mercy Hospital with injuries. All occupants were belted.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene; the Escalade by Bob’s Garage and the Carnival by Bean’s Towing. The crash was investigated by the Kansas Highway Patrol and was not a hit-and-run or police pursuit incident.

We hope for a full and speedy recovery for all five members of the Conyers family injured in this crash.

Car Accidents in Kansas

Two-Vehicle Pittsburg Car Accident on Ford AveAfter a Pittsburg car accident, many victims wonder how settlements work and what their case might be worth. Kansas law allows injured drivers and passengers to pursue financial recovery when another driver causes harm. However, the process can feel confusing if you have never dealt with insurance claims before. Our team works closely with clients to explain the process step by step.

What A Car Accident Settlement Is

A Pittsburg car accident settlement is a financial agreement between the injured person and the insurance company representing the at-fault driver. Instead of going through a full trial, both sides agree on a payment that resolves the claim. Insurance companies often look closely at medical records, lost wages, and other damages before offering a payout. During this process they may rely on various insurance tactics that can lower the value of a claim, which is why many victims seek legal help early.

Factors That Affect Settlement Value

The value of a Pittsburg car accident claim can vary depending on many details about the crash and the injuries involved. Our team reviews every case carefully to understand the full impact on the client’s life.

Some common factors include:

  • Medical treatment and long-term care needs
  • Time missed from work
  • Pain and physical limitations
  • Property damage and other financial losses

These details help determine the possible settlement amount and what a fair settlement may look like.

How Fault Can Impact Your Claim

Another major factor in a Pittsburg car accident case is how fault is shared between drivers. Kansas follows a rule called comparative negligence. This means compensation may be reduced if a driver is partly responsible for the crash. Insurance companies often investigate accident reports, witness statements, and vehicle damage to determine fault percentages.

The Settlement Process

A Pittsburg car accident claim often involves several steps before reaching a final agreement. Evidence must be collected, medical treatment evaluated, and damages calculated. Many claims are resolved through negotiated settlements, but some cases may move toward litigation if fair payment is not offered. Our team prepares every case carefully so clients are in a strong position when discussions begin.

When Legal Help Makes A Difference
