Sedalia, MO (August 10, 2026) – A Sedalia bicycle accident on Locust Street just east of Armstrong Street left a child with serious injuries Saturday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. on August 8 in Pettis County. Investigators reported that a red 2009 Honda Fit was traveling eastbound on Locust Street when it became involved in a collision with a bicyclist. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
The Honda was driven by 38-year-old male from Harrisonville, Missouri, who remained at the scene. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven away following the investigation.
Authorities reported that the bicyclist, a 7-year-old boy from Pleasant Hill, Missouri, sustained serious injuries in the crash. The child was not using a safety device at the time of the collision and was transported by Pleasant Hill EMS to Children’s Mercy Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Traffic in the area was affected while emergency personnel cared for the injured child and investigated the scene. Additional information has not been released as the investigation continues.
