Merriam, KS (May 21, 2026) – A fatal car accident in Merriam on Wednesday afternoon left one passenger dead and multiple others seriously injured. The collision occurred just after 4:45 p.m. on May 20 near 34th Street and Merriam Lane.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Sidney Kile, 28, of Olathe, was driving a 2019 McLaren 570S westbound on Merriam Lane when he struck a 2017 Honda Accord driven by Anne Wohl, 37, of Lenexa. Investigators reported that Wohl was attempting to turn north onto 34th Street at the time of impact.

Troopers stated the force of the crash pushed the McLaren into a 2018 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Aaron Stich, 47, of Brookline Station, which had been stopped behind the Honda. Roger Stroble, 74, of Kansas City, Kansas, who was a passenger in the McLaren, was transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

Kile was also transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. Authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
