Ridgeway Township, KS (August 22, 2026) – A Ridgeway Township car accident along US-56 Highway sent two people to the hospital Tuesday, August 18.
According to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of US-56 Highway and South Adams Road at approximately 7:33 a.m.
Authorities said two adults sustained injuries and were transported to a Topeka-area hospital. Their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening. A third individual involved in the crash declined medical treatment at the scene.
The collision led to intermittent closures along US-56 Highway while emergency personnel assisted those involved and crews worked to remove the damaged vehicles. The roadway was fully reopened by approximately 12:35 p.m.
Additional assistance was provided by Osage Fire Districts 1 and 4, Osage County EMS, Osage County Emergency Management, and the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
