Pettis, MO – Two Drivers Hurt in Crash on Route Y at Quisenberry Rd

Pettis, MO (May 22, 2025) – A crash involving two vehicles on Route Y at Quisenberry Road in Pettis County left both drivers with injuries Tuesday afternoon. The accident took place at approximately 1:49 p.m. on May 20.

Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that a 17-year-old juvenile driver from Warrensburg, operating a 2014 Ford Explorer, failed to yield to a westbound 2016 Dodge Dart driven by a 33-year-old man from Green Ridge. As a result, the Dodge Dart struck the front of the Explorer, causing heavy damage to both vehicles.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported by private vehicles to area hospitals for treatment. The teenager was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center, while the adult driver was transported to Bothwell Regional Medical Center.

Due to the extent of the damage, both vehicles had to be towed from the scene by Don’s Towing. The Pettis County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene while authorities investigated the circumstances of the crash.

We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.

Car Accidents in Missouri

Pettis, MO - Two Drivers Hurt in Crash on Route Y at Quisenberry RdAuto accidents in Missouri continue to affect thousands of residents each year. In 2023, more than 47,000 people were hurt in traffic crashes across the state. While efforts to improve road safety are ongoing, intersections and rural roadways like those in Pettis County still see a high rate of serious collisions. One important issue that often comes up after a crash is the role of insurance and accident claims. Here are several key points about how insurance impacts the aftermath of a Missouri car accident:

  • Liability Coverage Rules: Missouri is an at-fault state, which means the driver responsible for the crash must cover the costs of injuries and damages. It’s vital to have adequate liability coverage and to understand how it works if you’re involved in a wreck.
  • Underinsured and Uninsured Drivers: Despite legal requirements, some Missouri drivers don’t carry enough insurance, or any at all. If you’re hit by an uninsured or underinsured driver, your own policy’s coverage can play a crucial role in paying for medical expenses and repairs.
  • Timely Claims Filing: Insurance claims must be filed as soon as possible after the crash. Delays can lead to complications or denied benefits. Keeping documentation of injuries, vehicle damage, and all communication helps support your case.
  • Dealing with Adjusters: Insurance adjusters often aim to settle claims quickly and for as little as possible. They are not obligated to look out for your best interests, so having someone review their offer is highly recommended.
  • Total Loss Determinations: When a vehicle is declared a total loss, disputes can arise over its value. Knowing your vehicle’s market worth and getting multiple repair estimates can help you push back against unfair evaluations.

If you’ve been injured in a crash like the one on Route Y, you need a Pettis car accident attorney who understands how to deal with insurance companies and protect your rights.
