Overland Park, KS (July 27, 2026) – An Overland Park bicycle accident left a 30-year-old man seriously injured after he was struck by a vehicle while riding an electric bicycle Sunday evening. The incident occurred on July 26, and emergency crews quickly transported the injured cyclist to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Initial reports indicate that the crash happened when a vehicle traveling at approximately 45 miles per hour struck the electric bicycle. The adult male cyclist suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital under trauma activation. Medical personnel reported that the rider had a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 14 at the time of transport, suggesting he was conscious but potentially disoriented.
The cyclist sustained several visible injuries, including road rash abrasions on his lower legs, abdomen, and back. He also suffered a deep puncture wound to his lower left back, along with facial trauma that may include damage to his teeth and nose. Emergency crews placed the rider in a cervical collar as a precaution and established an IV before transport.
