Bob Freeman brings both medical and legal experience to the InJerry Law team. He has worked for plaintiffs and for the defense, and in a wide range of clinical and administrative healthcare settings. That background shows him how injuries are diagnosed, treated, documented, and billed, and how that information can make or break a personal injury claim.
Experience on Both Sides of the Legal Industry
Bob has extensive experience in the legal industry, working alongside attorneys, physicians and life care planners. Because he has supported both plaintiff and defense teams, he knows how each side reads a medical file, which details draw scrutiny and where a record is likely to be challenged. That perspective helps our attorneys anticipate questions from insurance companies and opposing counsel before they come up.
Much of Bob’s work involves creating medical chronologies and billing summaries. A medical chronology turns hundreds or even thousands of pages of records into a clear, date-by-date account of a client’s injuries and care. That account covers emergency treatment, imaging, specialist visits, surgeries, therapy and ongoing needs. A billing summary organizes the costs of that care so the full financial impact of an injury is documented accurately. Together, these tools help attorneys, experts and juries see the complete picture.
Bob is also skilled at identifying pertinent information. Medical records are long, technical and often inconsistent. Knowing which entry shows when symptoms began, which note links an injury to the incident, or which test result supports a diagnosis takes experience. Bob’s careful review helps make sure critical details aren’t overlooked.
A Foundation in Healthcare
Bob also has a strong foundation in hands-on healthcare. He has performed diagnostic radiology procedures in both the emergency room and surgery, so he knows firsthand how imaging is used to evaluate traumatic injuries. When he reviews X-ray, CT or MRI reports in a client’s file, he understands why those studies were ordered and how they were performed.
Bob has also assisted with spinal cord and brain injury studies at a health sciences university. That research experience is especially valuable in cases involving catastrophic harm. In those cases, understanding the long-term effects of a spinal cord or traumatic brain injury is essential to valuing a claim and planning for a client’s future care.
His background extends to medical records and practice management as well. Bob has handled medical records functions in a prison infirmary. He has also directed front- and back-office operations in an orthopedic surgeon’s office, overseeing patient records, scheduling, billing and day-to-day administration. That experience shows him how records are created, coded and maintained, and how to request and interpret them efficiently.
