Higginsville, MO (July 13, 2026) – A Higginsville car accident left one man seriously injured Sunday night after a rollover crash on Interstate 70 in Lafayette County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 10:43 p.m. on July 12 along Interstate 70 eastbound near mile marker 48.2, just outside Higginsville.
Investigators reported that a 2025 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 33-year-old man from Pensacola, Florida, was traveling eastbound when it struck the rear of a 2021 Subaru Forester operated by a 68-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York. Following the impact, the Subaru traveled off the right side of the interstate and overturned before coming to rest south of the roadway. The Toyota came to a stop, blocking both eastbound lanes of Interstate 70.
The Subaru driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by Higginsville EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center for further treatment. The Toyota driver was wearing a seat belt and was not reported to have been injured. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were removed from the scene by separate towing companies. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
