Kansas City, MO (September 7, 2026) – A 26-year-old man was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a Kansas City Truck accident that occurred during the morning hours on September 6.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 11:30 a.m., a 2020 Freightliner and a 2015 Nissan Altima were both traveling north on Interstate 29 when they became involved in a collision. The vehicles blocked multiple lanes of the roadway near mile marker 15.
The report states that the 33-year-old male driver of the Freightliner was switching lanes when the truck struck the Nissan. After the impact, the Nissan traveled off the left side of I-29 and came to rest in the median. The Freightliner sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. The Nissan sustained extensive damage and was towed by Express Tow of Platte City.
The 26-year-old Ferrelview, Missouri, man driving the Nissan suffered injuries. EMS transported him to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment. Both drivers were reportedly wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
Trooper D. T. Waller investigated the accident with assistance from Corporal S. S. Gates and Platte County deputies. The report did not identify either adult driver by name.
