Kansas City, MO – Toddler Killed in Driveway Accident on E 96th Terr

Kansas City, MO (September 8, 2025) – A toddler tragically died after being struck by an SUV in a south Kansas City driveway on Sunday afternoon, September 7. 

The incident occurred shortly before 1:50 p.m. in the 8100 block of East 96th Terrace, near James A. Reed Road.

Kansas City police responded promptly to the scene. Authorities reported that the child was hit by an SUV while in the driveway. Paramedics transported the toddler to a nearby hospital, but medical staff pronounced the child dead shortly after arrival.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police have not yet released further details about the driver or the circumstances surrounding the accident.
