Kansas City, MO – Multi-Vehicle Crash on MO 152 Injures Three Children

Kansas City, MO (May 14, 2025) – A serious chain-reaction crash involving six vehicles occurred on westbound Missouri 152 just east of Northeast Shoal Creek Parkway in Platte County around 5:10 p.m. on May 12. The crash resulted in injuries to three young children and brought a large emergency response to the scene.

According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash began when a 2020 Jeep Wrangler rear-ended a 2025 Buick Envista. The impact caused a domino effect, with the Buick striking the back of a 2016 Toyota Corolla. The Jeep then sideswiped a 2011 Toyota Prius and continued forward, hitting the rear of a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, which subsequently hit a second 2011 Toyota Prius. The Clay County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation and response.

Three young boys, aged three and four, were injured while riding in the Chrysler Pacifica. All three were transported by Kansas City Fire Department personnel to Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The other involved drivers, ranging in age from 26 to 71, were reportedly wearing seat belts and either drove their vehicles from the scene or had them towed.

We hope the children injured in this accident make a quick and full recovery.
