Kansas City, MO – 2 Injured in Serious Two-Vehicle Crash at 43rd St & The Paseo

Kansas City, MO (February 2, 2026) – Two people went to the hospital on Sunday, February 1, after a serious injury accident at a Kansas City intersection. Kansas City Police responded around 4:30 p.m. to the area of 43rd Street and The Paseo after receiving reports of a crash involving injuries.

Investigators reported that a Jeep Cherokee traveled west on 43rd Street and entered the intersection from a stop sign. At the same time, a Chevrolet Equinox moved northbound on The Paseo. Police said the Chevrolet struck the Jeep while traveling at a reportedly high rate of speed.

The impact caused the Jeep to overturn. Authorities stated that the driver of the Jeep was ejected during the crash, which led to critical injuries. Emergency crews rushed the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police also confirmed that the front seat passenger in the Jeep suffered injuries, though those injuries were not life-threatening. Authorities reported that the passenger remained in stable condition after receiving medical care.

The driver of the Chevrolet did not suffer injuries. Police continue investigating the crash and noted that suspected impairment of the Chevrolet driver remains under review.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

Our thoughts remain with those injured as they receive care and work toward recovery.

How Long Do You Have to File an Injury Claim After a Car Accident in Missouri?2 Injured in Serious Two-Vehicle Crash at 43rd St & The Paseo

In Missouri, you have five years from the date of a car accident to file a personal injury lawsuit seeking compensation. This deadline is part of the state’s statute of limitations, and missing it may prevent an injured person from pursuing a claim through the court system.

The statute of limitations applies to lawsuits, not just initial insurance claims. Someone may begin discussions with an insurance company soon after a crash, but legal deadlines still matter if a case requires further action later.

Filing within the proper time limit often allows victims to preserve important evidence. Crash reports, medical documentation, and witness accounts can become harder to gather as time passes. Many injuries also require ongoing treatment, which makes medical records an important part of connecting the harm directly to the accident.

Serious accidents involving ejection, multiple injuries, or suspected impairment may require more investigation. These crashes can involve complex questions about responsibility and long-term recovery needs. Having organized paperwork and understanding the filing window can help injured people avoid delays that could affect their options.

A car accident lawyer can explain how Missouri deadlines apply in a specific situation. An attorney may review crash details, help organize documentation, and clarify what types of compensation may be available depending on medical costs, missed work, and recovery needs.
