Kansas City, MO (October 3, 2025) – Two people suffered injuries after a three-vehicle fiery crash that shut down Interstate 435 in Kansas City on Friday morning, October 3.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near 48th Street in the Northland. Around dawn, three vehicles became involved in a collision that sparked a fire, forcing officials to close both northbound and southbound lanes of I-435. Emergency crews quickly arrived on scene to battle the flames and provide medical treatment to the injured.
Paramedics confirmed that two individuals sustained injuries and received immediate care. Fortunately, no life-threatening injuries were reported. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze while law enforcement managed the closure and directed traffic away from the area. By 7:30 a.m., authorities announced that both lanes of I-435 had reopened, restoring the flow of traffic.
Investigators are reviewing the circumstances to determine how the multi-vehicle crash and fire began.
