Kansas City, MO (September 8, 2026) – A 54-year-old man was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a Kansas City car accident on September 6 that ended with an SUV rolling over.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at approximately 4:48 p.m., authorities were called to southbound Interstate 29 at Exit 3A in Clay County. A 25-year-old Kansas City man was driving a 2012 Chrysler 300 southbound in the left lane when he lost control of the car.
The Chrysler struck a southbound 2004 Toyota Highlander driven by a 54-year-old Kansas City man. The impact caused the Highlander to roll over. Meanwhile, the Chrysler traveled off the left side of the interstate, struck a guardrail, and eventually came to rest.
Kansas City Fire transported the 54-year-old Highlander driver to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The report indicates that he was wearing a safety device. The 25-year-old Chrysler driver was not wearing a safety device, according to the report. No injury was listed for him.
Both vehicles were totaled. GT Tow removed the Chrysler from the scene, while Brad’s towed the Toyota Highlander. The report did not provide the names of either adult driver.
Trooper M. Gallo Mejia investigated the crash with assistance from Corporal B. S. Floray and Troopers K. R. Kennedy, A. M. Storey, and J. R. Boydston.
