Kansas City, KS (January 28, 2026) – A Kansas City car accident on Tuesday, January 27, resulted in injuries to two young women after a lane-change collision occurred on Interstate 635 Southbound just past the Interstate 70 interchange.
According to investigators from K69, the crash occurred around 7:56 p.m. when a 2016 Tesla Model S, driven by 20-year-old Daya Lashay Woolridge of Kansas City, was merging onto I-635 from Eastbound I-70. During the merge, Woolridge attempted an improper lane change and struck a southbound 2015 Ram 1500 driven by 21-year-old Amielia Kay Ramsey of Olathe. The impact caused Ramsey’s vehicle to spin out and strike the outside barrier wall.
Both drivers sustained suspected injuries and were transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center for treatment. The crash prompted a response from law enforcement and emergency personnel, with both vehicles removed from the scene by All City Tow of Kansas City, Kansas.
