Kansas City, MO (August 19, 2026) – A Kansas City car accident left one driver injured Tuesday morning, August 18, along Interstate 435 in Platte County.
According to the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. on northbound Interstate 435 near mile marker 25.6. Authorities reported that a 2018 Buick Encore and a 2015 Ford Expedition collided while traveling northbound. Following the impact, both vehicles traveled off the left side of the roadway and came to rest in the median.
The Buick was driven by a 37-year-old man from Independence, Missouri. He sustained moderate injuries and was transported by AMR to North Kansas City Hospital for additional treatment. The Ford Expedition was driven by a 44-year-old woman from Lawrence, Kansas, who was not reported injured.
