Johnson, MO – Woman Hurt in Morning Crash on Bus MO 13 Hwy

Johnson, MO (March 27, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision occurred early Wednesday morning on Bus MO 13 Hwy, leaving at least one person injured and requiring transportation to a local medical facility.

On March 26, a 2008 Pontiac traveling northbound struck the rear of a 2016 Toyota, which had been stopped behind an unrelated vehicle. According to authorities, the Pontiac driver’s view was obstructed by the stopped vehicle ahead, leading to the crash near the intersection of Division Rd. Emergency response teams arrived at the scene around 8:05 a.m. The Pontiac sustained moderate damage and had to be towed, while the Toyota was driven away from the scene. The 28-year-old female driver of the Pontiac, from East Lynne, Missouri, was transported by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The Toyota driver, a 42-year-old woman from Leeton, Missouri, was not injured.

We hope the injured woman recovers quickly.

Rear-End Accidents in Missouri

Johnson, MO – Woman Hurt in Morning Crash on Bus MO 13 HwyRear-end collisions are among the most frequent types of crashes on Missouri roadways. The Missouri State Highway Patrol consistently reports thousands of these crashes every year, many resulting in serious injuries. Driver distraction, following too closely, and weather conditions are often contributing factors. Missouri roads—especially near busy intersections or highways—are common locations for these types of incidents.

There are several important things to know if you’ve been involved in a crash like this:

  • Insurance Disputes Can Arise Quickly: After even a minor crash, insurance companies may argue about fault or try to reduce compensation. Victims are often pressured to settle quickly, which may not cover future medical costs or lost income. Having someone in your corner early on can make all the difference.
  • Medical Care Costs Add Up: Even minor injuries can lead to ongoing appointments, medications, and physical therapy. It’s essential to track and document all treatments to support your case and ensure you’re reimbursed appropriately.
  • Injuries Can Show Up Later: Some crash-related injuries, like whiplash or soft-tissue damage, might not be noticeable immediately. A visit to a doctor after the accident—even if you feel fine—is an important step for both your health and your legal protection.
  • Vehicle Damage May Have Hidden Issues: Not all vehicle damage is visible. Internal damage or alignment issues may not show up until later, creating additional costs. Always have your vehicle thoroughly inspected after a collision, even if it appears drivable.
