Johnson, MO – Three Injured in Car Crash on MO 23 at Rt E

Johnson, MO (April 25, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle accident on Missouri Route 23 at Route E led to multiple injuries and emergency response around 4:55 a.m. on April 23. Authorities say the crash occurred when a 2012 Chrysler, heading southbound, pulled into the path of a northbound 2013 Ford. The impact sent both vehicles off the east side of the roadway, where they came to a stop at the northeast corner of the intersection.

The Chrysler, driven by a 40-year-old woman from La Monte, was severely damaged and towed from the scene by Tip Top Towing. She and two male passengers, ages 33 and 39—also from La Monte—were injured. The driver and the 39-year-old man sustained minor injuries, while the 33-year-old man suffered moderate injuries. All three were transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center for further evaluation.

In the other vehicle, the 19-year-old Ford driver from Hannibal, along with his 18-year-old passenger from Fort Scott, Kansas, both suffered minor injuries but declined medical transport at the scene.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s investigation, the Chrysler failed to yield to oncoming traffic before the crash. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department also responded to assist with the scene.
