Randolph, MO (July 11, 2026) – A Randolph car accident injured two women Friday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 435 in Clay County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on July 10 in the southbound lanes of Interstate 435 at the 56.0 mile marker near Randolph.
Investigators reported that a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant, driven by a 35-year-old man from Independence, Missouri, swerved to avoid another vehicle before beginning to slide. The Mitsubishi struck a concrete barrier, overcorrected, and then collided with a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek driven by a 20-year-old woman from Overland Park, Kansas. The Subaru was then pushed into a 2022 Subaru Ascent driven by a 36-year-old woman from Independence, Missouri. Both Subaru vehicles subsequently struck the concrete barrier.
All three vehicles sustained total damage and were removed from the scene by tow services.
The 20-year-old woman suffered injuries and traveled by private vehicle to an unknown hospital for medical evaluation. The 36-year-old woman also sustained minor injuries and was transported by Kansas City Fire EMS to North Kansas City Hospital. The driver of the Mitsubishi was reported to have been wearing a seat belt and was not listed among the injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
