Shawnee, KS (September 17, 2026) – A Shawnee car accident involving seven vehicles sent four people to area hospitals after multiple vehicles crashed on Interstate 435 on Wednesday afternoon.
On September 16, the Shawnee Police Department was called to the northbound lanes of I-435 shortly after 1:05 p.m. The accident occurred on the section of the interstate between Shawnee Mission Pkwy and Johnson Dr.
According to information released by police, seven vehicles were involved in the crash. Emergency crews worked at the scene, where one person had to be extricated from a vehicle. Four people were transported to local hospitals for further medical care following the accident.
