Kansas City, MO (June 5, 2026) – A fatal Kansas City truck accident claimed the life of an 85-year-old Hamilton woman and left another woman seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning on eastbound U.S. 36 Highway east of Hamilton in Caldwell County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on June 3. Troopers reported that the woman was operating a 2002 Ford F-150 on the shoulder of eastbound U.S. 36 Highway when she attempted to re-enter the roadway.
Investigators stated that as the Ford moved back into traffic, it entered the path of a 2023 Kenworth tractor-trailer. Despite efforts by the truck driver to avoid a collision, the Kenworth struck the rear of the pickup truck.
The impact caused the Ford F-150 to overturn before eventually coming to rest on its wheels. Authorities confirmed that the 85-year-old female driver from Hamilton suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 52-year-old female passenger riding in the Ford F-150 sustained serious injuries. She was transported by medical helicopter to a Kansas City-area hospital for emergency treatment.
