Edwardsville, KS (February 24, 2026) – An Edwardsville car accident occurred Tuesday morning, February 24, along the southbound side of Interstate 435 near milepost 10, just north of K-32 Highway.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 58-year-old Cynthia A. Van Eyck of Kansas City, Missouri, was traveling southbound in a 2007 Toyota Highlander when her vehicle made contact with the rear of a 2024 BMW. The BMW, driven by 46-year-old Leslie A. Bender of Belton, Missouri, had come to a stop with slowing traffic.
Bender was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with reported injuries. Van Eyck reported a complaint of pain, but was not immediately transported to a hospital. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
