Jackson County, MO (February 24, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash in Jackson County left a 73-year-old woman seriously injured on Sunday, February 22, at US 50 Highway and Route D. The collision occurred at approximately 11:31 a.m.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a 2025 Ford Escape traveled eastbound on US 50 Highway when a 2005 Ford F-250 traveled northbound on Route D and entered its path.
The impact occurred in the right lane of US 50 Highway. The force of the collision caused the Ford Escape to overturn and come to rest, blocking lanes of traffic.
A 73-year-old female occupant from Kearney, Missouri, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Emergency crews airlifted her to the University of Missouri Hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle was reported uninjured.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Crews removed the vehicles from the scene after the crash investigation began.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
