Edwardsville, KS (May 19, 2026) – An Edwardsville car accident on Monday morning left one woman injured following a hit-and-run collision along K-32 near the I-435 interchange in Wyandotte County. The crash occurred at approximately 6:35 a.m. on May 18 at K-32 eastbound near mile marker 24, where traffic merges toward I-435 northbound.
According to the crash report investigated by the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2015 Ford Explorer was stopped at a red turn light while attempting to access I-435 northbound from K-32. As the regular eastbound light turned green, a 2020 Hyundai Elantra traveling eastbound struck the rear of the Ford.
Katelynn D. George, 29, of Leavenworth, Kansas, was identified as the driver of the Hyundai involved in the Edwardsville car accident. She was wearing a safety restraint and sustained injuries. George was transported to Overland Park Regional Hospital for medical treatment. Her vehicle was removed from the scene by All City Tow.
Melissa A. Williams, 39, of Kansas City, Kansas, was driving the Ford Explorer. She reported no apparent injury. Joseph A. Williams, 35, of Edwardsville, Kansas, was a passenger and reported possible injury with complaints of pain. Audrey Brisao, 23, of Kansas City, Kansas, was also inside the vehicle and reported no apparent injury. All occupants were wearing safety restraints. The Ford was also towed from the scene by All City Tow.
The crash was classified as a hit-and-run. Authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
