Edwards Car Accident on US-65 Leaves Teen Injured

Edwards, MO (October 5, 2026) – An Edwards car accident left a 17-year-old girl with moderate injuries after two pickup trucks collided on U.S. 65 south of Missouri Route 7 on Saturday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:33 p.m. on October 3. A 17-year-old Warsaw girl was driving a 1997 GMC Sierra southbound on U.S. 65 when the vehicle changed lanes and clipped a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.

The Silverado was also traveling southbound and was driven by a 19-year-old Lincoln man. After the vehicles made contact, the GMC crossed the highway, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a Missouri Department of Transportation sign, and overturned.

The teenage driver suffered moderate injuries. Warsaw/Lincoln EMS transported her to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment. The GMC was totaled and towed from the scene. The Silverado sustained moderate damage and was removed by family.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the collision.

We hope the young driver injured in this crash makes a full recovery.

Car Accidents in Missouri

Teen Injured in Edwards Car Accident on US-65An Edwards car accident involving a lane-change collision can quickly become serious when a vehicle loses control, leaves the highway, or overturns. Drivers and passengers involved in rollover crashes may suffer injuries from both the initial impact and the vehicle’s movement afterward. Evidence such as vehicle damage, roadway marks, photographs, witness accounts, and the police report can help establish how the vehicles came into contact and what happened afterward.

People injured in collisions may benefit from speaking with a personal injury attorney about their rights and possible options for recovery.

Who Can Be Liable for a Lane-Change Accident?

Liability for an Edwards car accident involving a lane change depends on the actions of the drivers before the vehicles made contact. Investigators may consider whether a driver checked surrounding traffic, signaled before moving, maintained their lane, and had enough room to safely complete the maneuver. Witness statements, vehicle damage, roadway evidence, and available video may also help determine how the collision occurred.

Why Can a Rollover Crash Cause Serious Injuries?

An Edwards car accident becomes particularly dangerous when a vehicle overturns because occupants may experience multiple forces as the vehicle rolls. Seat belts can reduce certain risks, but people can still suffer head, neck, back, chest, and extremity injuries. Medical evaluation is important after a rollover because some injuries may not cause severe symptoms immediately after the crash.

What Evidence Can Help After a Lane-Change Collision?

Evidence from an Edwards car accident may include photographs of the vehicles, damage patterns, tire marks, debris, witness statements, dash camera footage, and the official crash report. The location of damage can be particularly relevant when determining how two vehicles made contact during a lane change. Medical records can separately document the injuries and treatment resulting from the collision.

Can an Injured Passenger or Driver Seek Compensation in Missouri?

A person hurt in an Edwards car accident may have the right to pursue compensation when another party’s negligence contributed to the crash. Depending on the circumstances, recoverable damages may include medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and other qualifying losses. Missouri’s comparative fault rules can also affect recovery when responsibility for a collision is shared between multiple parties.
