Wyandotte County, KS (February 27, 2026) – A three-vehicle car accident in Wyandotte County on Southbound Interstate 635 slowed traffic Thursday afternoon, February 26, near Mile Marker 1.2.
At approximately 4:45 p.m., a 2017 Chevrolet K1500, a 2009 Lexus RX, and a 2011 Toyota Sienna were traveling southbound just north of Shawnee Drive. According to the crash narrative, the Chevrolet, driven by Lloyd S. Stanfield, was slowing to merge when it was involved in a chain-reaction rear-end collision with the Lexus, driven by Jeffrey D. Thelen, and the Toyota, driven by Nara Lim.
While Mr. Lim and Mr. Thelen reported no apparent injuries at the scene, Lloyd S. Stanfield sustained injuries in the crash. He was transported to the University of Kansas Health System for medical treatment.
The Toyota Sienna sustained significant damage and was removed from the highway by Santa Fe Tow. All three drivers were reportedly wearing their safety restraints at the time of the incident. At this time, the Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating.
