Blue Springs, Missouri (May 29, 2026) – A Blue Springs car accident left at least one person injured Thursday evening along Interstate 470 near Woods Chapel Road in eastern Jackson County.
Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene at approximately 6:20 p.m. on May 28 along northbound I-470 just north of Woods Chapel Road near Blue Springs.
According to investigators, a silver Jeep Liberty driven by a 24-year-old woman from Lee’s Summit was traveling northbound when it struck the rear of a white Ford F-150. Reports indicate the Ford pickup, operated by a 59-year-old man from Kearney, Missouri, had slowed due to traffic conditions when the collision occurred.
Emergency personnel responded to assist those involved in the crash. A 57-year-old female occupant of the Ford F-150 sustained injuries and was transported by the Lee’s Summit Fire Department to Centerpoint Medical Center for further treatment. Both vehicles sustained damage but were driven from the scene following the investigation.
