Atchison, KS (April 25, 2026) – An Atchison bicycle accident involving a young rider and a sedan occurred on Friday evening at a local intersection.
The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the scene at the intersection of Hickory Street and M Street at approximately 5:02 p.m. to investigate the injury crash. A 12-year-old boy was traveling eastbound on a bicycle along M Street when the collision occurred. A 2013 Ford Fusion, driven by 26-year-old Talia M. Rawls, was traveling southbound through the intersection when the two collided.
The young rider was not wearing a helmet and sustained suspected serious injuries during the event. Paramedics treated the victim at the site before transferring him to Amberwell Hospital for further care. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the wreck. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
