Kansas City, MO (August 9, 2026) – A Kansas City motorcycle accident on northbound U.S. 71 Highway near 19th Street left two people with serious injuries Friday morning.
According to the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, officers responded to the crash shortly before 8:00 a.m. on August 7. A preliminary investigation found that a silver Honda Goldwing motorcycle was traveling northbound on U.S. 71 Highway when it collided with the rear of a black Ford Fusion that was stopped in traffic.
Emergency crews arrived quickly and provided medical care to those involved. The motorcycle operator and a passenger both sustained serious injuries in the collision. They were transported to a local hospital for additional treatment. Authorities reported that the driver of the Ford Fusion was not injured.
The northbound lanes experienced traffic delays while police documented the scene and emergency personnel assisted the injured victims. Investigators continue working to determine all of the circumstances surrounding the crash.
