Fatal Car Accident on I-35 Near 119th St in Olathe, KS

Olathe, KS (June 23, 2026) – A man lost his life on Monday morning following a fatal Olathe car accident on Interstate 35.

Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 11:30 a.m. on June 22 along southbound I-35 near milepost 220.8, approximately 0.6 miles south of 119th Street. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2008 Cadillac DTS and a 2021 Toyota Camry were traveling southbound in the No. 5 lane when the collision occurred.

Investigators reported that the Cadillac, driven by 29-year-old Isaiah M. Foster of Olathe, struck the rear of the Toyota with its front bumper and hood area. After impact, the Cadillac bounced away from the Toyota and collided with the outside barrier wall.

The vehicle continued along the shoulder, striking the barrier wall multiple times before traveling into a grassy area. Authorities stated the Cadillac crossed over a small hill, became airborne, and rolled before coming to rest on its roof.

Foster sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased. He was transported to the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office. Investigators noted that he was not wearing a safety restraint at the time of the collision.

The Toyota was driven by 40-year-old Jose A. Monterrosa of Blue Springs, Missouri. Monterrosa was reportedly wearing a seat belt and suffered suspected minor injuries in the crash.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene by All City Tow. The crash remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Isaiah Foster during this difficult time.
