Kansas City, MO (February 5, 2026) – A serious injury accident shut down part of Interstate 35 early Monday morning, February 2, after a fiery crash left one person with life-threatening injuries. The crash happened near the 17th Street exit and caused significant delays during the early commute hours.
The Kansas City Fire and emergency units responded just before 3:20 a.m. after reports of a vehicle fire along the northbound lanes of I-35. When responders arrived, they found a car fully engulfed in flames. The driver had managed to exit the vehicle before crews reached the scene and required immediate medical attention.
